Creamers: What to BUY/Eat and What to AVOID

This one goes out to all my coffee drinkers out there who sometimes can’t even function without their cup of joe. Before you pour your next one, however, think about what creamer you’re putting in it.

Not going to lie, this one was tough to find healthy creamers as there are so many that are loaded with sugar, natural flavors, carrageenan, and other unhealthy preservatives.

Right off the bat, you want to AVOID any powdered creamers. These have no dairy in it and are instead filled with preservatives that help maintain its shelf life. So make sure you buy your creamer in the refrigerated section.

While you’re over there, make sure you actually see dairy in the ingredients. A brand like CoffeeMate uses unhealthy oils to give that creamy appearance and texture.

If you don’t drink dairy, but still want a healthy creamer, I GOT you. I list a couple items that will get fill your coffee needs.

Also make sure it has LESS than 5 grams of sugar per serving. I would personally recommend under 4, but I know how much people love their sweetness with their coffee.

There’s an elephant in the room I do need to address because I KNOW I will get it in the comments: “Conor... you listed Chobani as a BUY option but it has Natural Flavors that you said you should avoid!” You have to pick your poison with coffee creamers, because as I said earlier, there aren’t many that are that great for you. At least Chobani has minimal ingredients and is made with actual dairy.
