Setting Intentions
Over the past year, I’ve realized how important mental well-being is to overall health. I’ve tried to check in with myself daily to improve my mental health and make sure I am taking care of my mind and body. One of my biggest motivations to start my day is by setting intentions.
My intentions are to create sustainable changes that make a lasting impact for the foreseeable future. Seeing as we are in January, these practices aren’t meant to be viewed as resolutions but rather habits that hopefully give you deeper insight into who you truly are and what you value.
If you are using the new year to set new intentions for yourself, use these tips to help the changes you’ve created for the new year into consistent habits:
5 Minute Journal to be done first thing in the morning
Don’t check social media
Make your bed, brush your teeth, grab a journal and begin to write
Write down 3 things you are grateful for
“Friends”
“Family”
“Sunshine”
Write down 3 things that would make today great
“Working out my lower body”
“Having dinner with my spouse”
“Practicing guitar”
Write down 3 daily affirmations
“I am brave”
“Today I will learn and grow”
“I focus on my own results”
