Embrace the Journey
Don't ever forget that what you do TODAY builds the foundation for the future you want.
After graduating college, I worked several non-paid internships; it was the best way to gain experience within my field and learn from some of the best professions. Some grueling days started at 5:30 am and ended at 6:30 pm. A lot of physical activity with high energy was required, so I was in bed asleep by 8:00 pm when I got home.
It was certainly tough, especially having my life completely devoted to this internship with life outside it. But I stayed the course, and I realized how important this was to set my future up.
All of the knowledge I gained and the connections I made led me to be a sports performance facility director at the age of 23. I would have never been able to accomplish this had I not seen the value of the present moment. I could have easily given up and enjoyed my life after college partying it up, but I knew that would only give me immediate gratification and would never be able to reach long-term success.
Stay the course, make the most of the present moment, and eventually, your patience will repay you.
